During 2014, Scottish Canals invested in a program called 'Living
on Water'. (www.livingonwater.co.uk).
Causewayend Marina was been selected to provide 6 residential
moorings as part of the Living on Water program. In addition, there is two
visitor moorings within the marina. There is pedestrian access from the marina
to the bistro. All residential units have access to water, electricity as well
as storage in the adjacent huts. One of the major attractions which Causewayend
Marina offers is peace and tranquillity.
The Marina is on the opposite side of the canal from the footpath
and vehicular access is only possible via the Bistro.
on Water is exactly what it say's - to encourage people to live in their boats
on the water. There are a number of locations on the Union Canal being promoted,
Leamington Wharf (Edinburgh), Ratho, Linlithgow and Causewayend as well as a
number of locations on the Forth and Clyde Canal.
